My painting journey started when my husband and I were in an accident. A texting teen hit us head on going 80 miles an hour. It was one of those accidents that people see and wonder if there are survivors. I had a concussion and hemorrhage behind my right eye. I spent months in a fog and struggled with double vision. It was clear to my husband, boss, and close friends that the accident took some fizz out of my bottle. Luckily for me, my vision therapist suggested that I try something that requires eye/hand coordination, like painting. I hadn't done anything artistic except for doodling at meetings and making ugly 80’s country crafts. As life sometimes goes, I stumbled upon an amazing artist and teacher, Bruce Becker at The Warehouse Studios. He assured me he could teach me how to paint. I started with simple objects, and as I created, my vision improved. Painting things that make me smile has given me the opportunity to express myself and share my love of bright colors, nature, and the simple beauty in our everyday surroundings. I often add whimsy, which brings me  joy. It took an unfortunate event to jump start this journey, and I am hooked.  I am so glad that you found your way to my website, and I hope that you enjoy my paintings.
