Ever go scuba diving? I foolishly went scuba diving in the Bahamas. I had 45 minutes of training in the resort pool, and that somehow qualified me for a 50 ft. dive. I thought it would be cool. I had no trouble in the hotel pool. I knew the fish and underwater scenery would be amazing. I completely forgot about my claustrophobia until I started working my way down the anchor rope. I got about 20 feet down and realized that it was a long way to real air. I froze. People were trying to get down the rope past me. John was already in the sand at the bottom waiting for me. My competitive nature kicked in and I defied death and went to the bottom. For me it was beautiful and scary. I kept looking at the sky above the water. I made it through. I can say I did it. After that trip, I have settled for snorkeling. The fish are still beautiful, and I don’t feel like I am going to die.
