Mom liked her martini’s very dry, meaning vodka in a glass with a twist. I admit, she was tougher than me. I needed something extra in my glass to be able to share a martini with her. She thought I was a wimp, but would often allow me to throw a few olives in her glass, especially if they were stuffed with blue cheese. I don’t drink many martinis anymore, but when I do, I raise a glass to mom.
